Introduce your students to life in Mahaska County in the 18th century. Students engage in the historic activities, games, fun and work of that their long ago peers would have done. As they experience the same activities, they better understand what life was like long ago. Every activity has a STEM learning component.
Students will participate in 5 stations during their visit to Nelson Pioneer farm and museum. A visit to the museum exhibits lets them explore the mammoth dig, life as an Ioway and a scavenger worksheet guides their exploration of the exhibits.
The other 4 activities are teacher's choice. Choose from the list below.
Make sure to convey your choices to the director when you make your reservation.
